Springfield Symphony Orchestra
Springfield Symphony Orchestra has been the cultural heartbeat of Western Massachusetts since its first concert in 1944 at the then Municipal Auditorium, now Symphony Hall, where it continues to perform today. Recognized as the largest professional symphony in Massachusetts outside Boston, the SSO features more than 80 musicians from New England and Canada and presents full orchestra and ensemble programs throughout the season. The organization is deeply committed to education, sponsoring the Springfield Symphony Youth Camerata, Springfield Youth Sinfonia, and Springfield Youth Orchestra to nurture the next generation of performers and audiences.
